What it is
July is Disability Pride Month, in observation we are hosting “BX on Track: A Walk for Disability Visibility” which is a charity fundraising event to raise money for Special Olympics, as well as to raise awareness for those with disabilities and the challenges they face.
Similar to Relay for Life, we will be traveling around the track completing laps to reach our team goal of 1023 laps while raising money for each lap done and the various other activities we have planned. We plan on having a variety of accessible activities, food, live music, a silent auction, and more. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to July!
Activities and Games
We will have a wide range of activities for all ages to enjoy, if not all, will have modifications to be more accessible to those with disabilities. Some of the games and activities you can expect are backyard bowling, ring toss, Ladders, card games, and face painting.
Food
Hungry? Food trucks will be available around lunch and dinner. Instead of having the same old burger from a fast food joint or yesterdays leftovers, come and enjoy some local food truck favorites.
Entertainment
Enjoy an unforgettable evening of live music and entertainment as you immerse yourself in the stellar performances of talented local bands. Indulge in the vibrant and dynamic atmosphere as the melodies and rhythms sweep you away into a world of symphony and harmony.
Silent Auction
Delight in the opportunity to bid on an array of unique and exclusive items, all while supporting the invaluable cause for the Special Olympics within our local community. Don't miss out on this exceptional event that seamlessly marries philanthropy with an unforgettable experience.
